Prior to joining Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice, P.A. in 2014, Elly spent time working at the Maine Department of Environmental Protection gaining experience in the areas of property and water law. She has spent the last two years working with creditors to resolve residential mortgage defaults. While at the University of Maine School of Law, she concentrated her studies on environmental and marine law and was an active member of the Environmental Law Society.
ESTATE PLANNING AND MAINECARE BENEFITS
Attorney Dominguez’s interest in MaineCare benefits comes from her belief that everyone should have access to suitable health care, even within the restrictions of a limited income. Working in Elder Law allows her to focus on the whole individual and not just a specific area so that she can help with health care, estate planning or any of the many other aspects of life past 65.
Meanwhile, her growing interest in veterans’ affairs lies very close to home – her father served in the United States Navy for 20 years, while her brother is currently enlisted, so she is very excited to start working with other veterans and assisting with their estate planning and legal needs.
Real Estate Law is Attorney Dominguez’s area of greatest expertise, going back to her studies at law school in the areas of land use and property law. This led her to a position at the Maine Department of Environmental Protection where she was able to further her knowledge and gain experience with the environmental regulations relating to land affected by oil and hazardous waste spills. After working with the DEP, Attorney Dominguez delved into real estate transactions and began performing residential real estate closings for a local title company.
