After nearly two decades of private practice specializing in commercial real estate transactions, title-related litigation, foreclosures, bankruptcy, business formation, estate planning, and probate, attorney Zachary I. Greenfield became “of counsel” to Ainsworth, Thelin & Raftice, P.A. effective August 1, 2022. In addition to his role as “of counsel” to our firm, Zack is the Maine State Manager and Underwriting Counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company, a major national underwriter of title insurance policies. Throughout his career, Zack has represented community banks, credit unions, regional banks, national lenders, title insurance companies, developers, local businesses, and individuals in a wide range of matters. He was an associate and partner for many years at an established Portland, Maine, law firm, and most recently was the managing partner at a firm he founded in 2014 with other real estate practitioners, Barns, Greenfield & Thornton, LLC. Much of that firm’s practice has been transferred to Ainsworth Thelin & Raftice, P.A.
Zack is a 1997 graduate of Ithaca College, a 2004 graduate, cum laude, of University of Maine School of Law, and panel Chair for the Fee Arbitration Committee of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers. Known for his balanced, direct, and friendly approach to often complex situations, Zack enjoys the benefit of numerous positive relationships with Maine real estate attorneys, lenders, and brokers. Zack lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, with his three children, four cats, and his dog, George. When not working, Zack is usually either out on his boat in Casco Bay with his kids hauling lobster traps or riding his motorcycle through the winding country and seaside roads of Maine.
