Each winter, the Sugarloaf Charity Summit brings together skiers, riders, and community members to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. This inspiring event supports the Maine Cancer Foundation, the Dempsey Center, and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center—organizations that provide critical care, research, and support for Mainers affected by cancer.
This year, Jerome Gamache is taking his passion for the slopes and turning it into purpose. Through his fundraising efforts, Jerome is helping ensure that every dollar raised goes directly toward improving cancer prevention, early detection, and patient support across Maine. Attorney’s Jerome Gamache and Charles J. Kanozak participated at Fidelity National Financial and Chicago Title’s Legal Seminar at Fenway Park. Which brought attorneys across the region together for an engaging day of education, collaboration, and exclusive experiences. Hosted at the Aura Club behind centerplate, the event combined professional development with a behind-the-scenes look at one of Boston’s most iconic landmarks. ATR was invited by Brooke Reckitt, our local representative and Tiffany Dembrowski, Local Counsel. We are glad that we attended and can’t wait for more events like this in the future!

ATR is proud to have donated over 900 binders to Ruth’s Reusable Resources. Binders are essential for organizing schoolwork, lesson plans, and projects, but not every classroom has enough. ATR’s donation ensures more students and teachers have the tools they need to succeed, without the extra cost. Ruth’s Reusable Resources has a free teacher store that Maine teachers can go to receive classroom supplies at no cost to them. The Kids First Center will host a professional webinar that will investigate the impact high-conflict divorce and separation has on children. Attorney Chris Leddy will be moderating alongside Karen MacDonald. This two hour webinar will be hosted July 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Maine Cancer Foundation’s 18th Annual Tri for a Cure is scheduled for July 20, 2025 at Southern Maine Community College here in South Portland. Attorney Eleanor Dominguez is competing for her second time in the bike portion. Elly has raised close to $1,000 thanks to many generous donations, bringing her closer to her goal of $2,000 raised. The funds raised will be 100% invested back into Maine communities thanks to Maine Cancer Foundation’s goal to reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates in Maine.

We are pleased to welcome Attorney Charles J. “C.J.” Kanozak as the newest associate attorney on our team!

Charles earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 2008. He then spent over a decade working in biomedical research and bioscience across the nonprofit and public sectors. He later co-founded and operated a legal support company, an experience that drove him to pursue a legal career. Charles earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law in 2024 and was licensed to practice in Maine in 2025.

While in law school, Charles served as an editor of the Maine Law Review and was selected for the Labor & Employment Moot Court Team. He brings a strong commitment to helping clients achieve their goals, with a focus on assisting both individuals and businesses in real estate and business transactions.

A native Mainer, Charles grew up in Manchester and now resides in Scarborough. He is licensed to practice law in both Maine and Missouri.

ATR wishes to announce that effective May 30th, Attorney Jake Bowie will be transitioning his practice to Perkins Thompson PA to pursue additional areas of law in real estate development and M&A work, in addition to his existing practice.  We wish Jake well with his new endeavor!- and we look forward to ongoing professional collaboration on legal matters in the real estate and commercial services spheres with Jake at his new firm.  All clients with ongoing matters with Jake will be individually contacted shortly; in the interim, Jake will continue providing the same services and counsel that clients have come to know and trust with ATR through May 30th.
